EVE Online Exploration Guide

Exploration gets recommended a lot to new players in EVE Online, and it’s definitely way more exciting (and lucrative) than a lot of other career paths open to them. That’s why I’m writing this exploration guide (really getting that SEO in there) covering everything I’ve learned over the last way too many years exploring in this game.

With a bit of knowledge and reckless piloting, you too can follow my debris trail to riches and a killboard as green as my corp’s. This guide’s geared toward newer players, but experienced folks might also learn something.

I’ll be posting new sections and making updates regularly, so keep your eyes peeled! I’ll also be putting up guides for more experienced players on specific, often poorly documented content like metaliminal storms and dronelands exploration (an Explorer’s Annex if you will).

This guide focuses on “traditional” exploration, meaning pirate data/relic sites and other content suitable for a non-combat exploration ship such as a covert ops frigate. Something like DED combat exploration really deserves its own guide. The guide generally assumes omega status, but I’ll include some advice applicable to alphas. This guide also won’t cover hunting explorers. Partly because I have no experience doing it, partly because I’d be kicked if I tried it.

If you have any exploration tips you’d like to share, or any topics you’d like to see covered, just leave a comment!
